Nafeesa Rubaiya is currently employed as State-Aided College Lecturer in Pakuahat Degree College in Malda in West Bengal. She holds an M.A. degree from University of Gour Banga in 2017. She has also obtained B.Ed degree from University of West Bengal Teacher’s Training, Education Planning and Administration.

She is interested in the study of social media and tries to explore how the popular media is shaped through the assimilation of low culture in the mainstream media while deconstructing the hierarchy of dominant mainstream media culture.
